HOW DOES Signature WORK?

From an end user's perspective using Signature is quite simple --

• You initiate a transaction, for example, an over the telephone credit card purchase and your bank requires you to authenticate yourself before it will authorise the transaction.
• The u.assure Mobile Client automatically starts up and provides details of the transaction and asks if you want to sign the transaction.
• If you click OK then the PIN prompt appears
• Once you enter your PIN then the transaction is digitally signed
• The digitally signed response is submitted back to your Bank.

So does how it works technically?

The WEB application locates the SNES server responsible for your domain of user accounts (i.e. your Windows Domain) and submits a signature request. Once SNES receives the signature request it establishes a secure session between the calling WEB application and u.assure Mobile Client on your phone. SNES essentially acts as a secure gateway that wraps HTTPS (SOAP/XML) requests into encrypted SMS and vice versa. Signed responses are validated against Public Keys retrieved from LDAP.
